Brian Isherwood

Director

Brian is a successful businessman and entrepreneur with 18 years’ experience creating and running companies. Following the completion of his Bachelor of Science (Physics) degree, Brian began to transition from technology and science into entrepreneurial business development and ownership. Brian has been able to leverage a strong background in finance, strategic growth planning and generating customer awareness, to build businesses. He acquired and developed one of Canada’s largest self storage businesses in Alberta. Additionally, he is a co-owner and developer of the Flying Pig restaurant group which, in a short time period, has increased its locations through the development of a strong brand, customer loyalty and a healthy balance sheet. Brian has been a lead seed investor in Global Gardens Group.

Paul Sun

Director

Paul has over 20 years of business experience and has held numerous senior roles at investment banks including Scotia Capital, Desjardins, and Beacon Securities. Paul has provided financial solutions from small start-ups to billion dollar market-cap companies and has been involved in many transactions across the entire capital structure. He has built an extensive investor network and is a trusted advisor. He has also held project and operations management positions at a number of private and publicly traded companies. He was awarded his Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering from The University of Toronto and his Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business. He holds the Professional Engineer and Certified Financial Analyst designations. Paul is as passionate about the markets as he is about health and well-being.

Nitin Kaushal

Director

Nitin has over 25 years of financial and investment experience across North America spanning a number of industries. Nitin is presently a Managing Director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the corporate finance practice. Over the course of his career he has worked in senior roles with a number of Canadian investment banks, including Desjardins Securities Inc., Orion Securities Inc., Vengate Capital, HSBC Securities Inc. and Gordon Capital. He has held roles within the private equity/venture capital industry at MDS Capital Corp. In addition, Nitin has sat on a number of public and private company boards. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant. Nitin is currently a director of Patient Home Monitoring Corp., Convalo Health International, Delivra Inc. and Shelby Ventures.

Justin Kates

Director

Justin Kates is a partner of DuMoulin Black, practicing primarily in the areas of securities, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and commercial law. Justin works with clients in a wide range of industries including technology, life sciences, food & beverage, and natural resources. Justin advises clients from all stages of development ranging from early stage to large public companies. His practice includes advising these clients on a range of matters, including equity and debt financings, stock exchange listings, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and general corporate/commercial matters. Justin is a member of the Securities Law, and Business Law sections of the Canadian Bar Association and is on the Finance Committee of the charitable organization Athletics 4 Kids. Justin received his J.D. from the University of Western Ontario  and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2009.

Rob Harrison

Director

Rob has over 35 years of experience as an executive in the food business, including 32 years in dairy. He’s a successful Canadian entrepreneur with a solid corporate background in the manufacturing and food processing industry. Having successfully run Neilson Dairy in the late ‘80s, Rob went on to create several other successful companies in the manufacturing and service sectors. In addition to introducing Haagen Dazs to Canadian consumers, he was responsible for engaging and then securing license to produce and market Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, in Canada. Rob has consulted many Fortune 500 food companies including Heinz, Nabisco, Nestle and Slim Fast. He is an excellent presenter, negotiator and a charismatic leader.
